
Easy Burger Buns
Using a Cuisinart or kitchen aid, add the following;
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup warm water
Mix together until it bubbles
In a separate bowl mix together;
2 cups white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon salt
Add dry ingredients into the yeast and water mixture.
Pulse until well incorporated (5 -8 second then add;
1 large egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 egg
Pulse until it forms into a ball then place the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead and form a nice size ball. Sprinkle lightly with some flour then cover with dish towel and let it rise for about 1 hour.
When it doubles in size knead again and form a log like dough then cut about 8 pieces and individually form 8 small rolls, flatten some so they look like flying saucers. Place them onto a tray with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another hour.
When ready to bake mix 1 tablespoon milk and one egg then brush carefully onto the buns.
Sprinkle with some bagel or sesame seed seasoning.
Bake in middle rack at 375 for about 15 minutes.
